Founders’ Day Giving
46 Years of Democracy Unfiltered
We Did It — And Then Some!
$80,000 + Raised. 46 Years and Going.
Thanks to our incredible community, we didn’t just meet our Founders’ Day goal — we surpassed it. Together, we raised over $80,000 to support democracy unfiltered. That’s $36,000 and more beyond our original target of one thousand dollars for every year C-SPAN has kept government transparent and accessible.
Democracy unfiltered takes work and you stepped up, big time. The campaign goal is exceeded, but the work continues. For now, we’re celebrating you and the impact you’ve made.
Because of your support in just the first months of 2025, we’ve been able to:
✅ Cover the first 100 days of President Trump’s second term — including confirmation hearings, press briefings, and congressional reactions
✅ Interview 64 new members of the 119th Congress — helping viewers get to know the new members shaping our future
✅ Capture every moment from the House and Senate floor — Sen. Cory Booker breaks a 68-year-old record with his 25-hour Senate floor speech.
✅ Bring the country together with full coverage of President Jimmy Carter’s passing and memorial events
This is what democracy looks like and you made it possible.
Your Gift Goes Even Further
Every dollar above our goal means:
✔ More hours of unedited access to government proceedings
✔ More support for civic education in 40,000+ classrooms
✔ More innovation so C-SPAN stays accessible on every screen
And while we’re proud of this milestone, we’re not slowing down. There’s still important work ahead and your continued support makes it possible. If you haven’t had a chance to give yet, it’s not too late. Every gift keeps democracy accessible, transparent, and unfiltered.
💙 Thank you for supporting public access, civic education, and transparency. We're so proud to celebrate this moment with you.

Please tell Brian that I enjoyed very much the Founders program with himself and Susan. In 1960, after two years at Indiana University (where women were so confined), in 1960, I quit college and at age 20 years old, I was hired at an FM radio station in Indianapolis (WIBC-FM). My title was Secretary to the General Manager (Fairchild's son), but I actually produced a jazz show and other taped easy-listening programs. I was not allowed on air because I was female. The on-air DJ was the president of the Indpls Jazz Club. I left Indiana in 1961 for California where there were more opportunities for women rather than in Indiana. The state of California had tuition-free state colleges and I was putting myself through. A few years later, my brother was an on-air DJ at the same station. So glad Susan was young enough to have the opportunity to be on-air and do such excellent work.

Was asked to pick a number between 1 and 100 and she chose '13'. I added '100'. :)

I think CSpan is, to use the cliche, a national treasure and really should be a government/taxpayer supported source. It is a critical feature of the "nexus" between taxpayers/citizens and government and needs to be supported, expanded, and much more prominent! In other words, I love C-SPAN and appreciate it greatly.

Thank you, Brian Lamb, Susan Swain, Steve Scully and Peter Slen, and all the Founding Members, and current staff for bringing such a wonderful resource on knowledge of our government - from the beginning to the present - to the American People and Globally. Molly Connors has done a commendable job in raising funds, It appears that as younger Americans are not utilizing Cable News in large numbers that the $ to sustain C-span have fallen substantially. I would suggest that Congress pass a Bill to fund C-span, as they have with NPR and PBS.
